Air Conditioning Maintenance – What To Expect
You have read in our newsletters and on our website that annual air conditioning maintenance is a must. We have told you that it helps catch problems before they happen and may even extend the life of your system.
But what exactly do we do when we come out?
Here is what you should expect when we come out for your spring air conditioning maintenance appointment –
The first thing we will do is an inspection. We are looking for anything that may cause you a problem down the road. It is this preventive maintenance that helps prevent malfunctions and breakdowns by catching any problems before you need a bigger repair. Your technician will inspect all the motors, fan, capacitors, the compressor, coils, and refrigerant level to find any wear and tear that may create issues.
At the end of the appointment we will let you know whether we need to schedule any repairs and whenever possible we will show you the problem as it is.
Our technician will clean dust out of the motors as well as remove and clean the condensate pan. He will also clean the outside condensate coil.
A tune-up does lengthen the life of your unit but what exactly does it include?
Your technician will locate and tighten any loose electrical connections and clear out the condensation drain. If your refrigerant is not at the right level, he will recharge your refrigerant. Finally your technician will lubricate any moving parts and change your air filter.
